Sometime during the episode on Simplifying Your Life, I became stressed out. I had interviewed Brooks Palmer, the author of the book Clutter Busting, but the recording was bad. I had an audio expert try to help fix it, but it was barely usable. After about the fourth hour of editing the episode I stopped and shouted,
“THIS ISN’T PEACEFUL!” Then I laughed at myself.
I thought, “how can I simplify this?” and decided to re-record the episode without the interview and just get it live. After all, what good is a podcast about peace if it’s stressing me out, right?
In that same vein I’ve tried to produce this series as simply as possible, so it can be a project that brings me joy–and hopefully brings you joy, too. I don’t have fancy equipment. My “recording studio” is my guest bedroom. I bought a tripod cell phone adapter ($12), had the plosive screen from a previous project, and record everything on my iPhone X. The podcast is edited on Garage Band, for now.
I am trying to work toward a regular release schedule, on Sundays, but it might vary. Like I said, I don’t want to make the podcast a stressor, so episodes will be released when I have a moment to write, record, edit, and upload them.
Thank you for listening, reading, and caring. It means so much to me to see the listener numbers go up each week! Let me know that you’re out there by emailing me at podcast@thepeaceful.life. You are perfect!
